The Tested Needle

This vintage exposure meter was recently picked up, cleaned, and thoroughly tested to see if it could still read the room. When pointed toward a bright window, the internal needle reacted instantly, moving smoothly across the analog scale just as it did decades ago. The mechanical parts and dials still turn perfectly, proving that the device is still fully functional and alive.

However, a side-by-side test with modern equipment reveals the inevitable effects of time. Due to its advanced age, the internal light-sensitive cell has naturally degraded, meaning its readings are no longer completely accurate or precise. While it can no longer be trusted for critical professional photography, the fact that it still works after all these years makes it a wonderful, living piece of history—perfect for vintage collectors and analog enthusiasts.
